Edward Jessop is a vampire with an embarrassing problem – he faints at the sight of blood.

Sorry about the crap pun in the title there. I couldn't help myself.This is a lovely piece of light whimsy with a splendidly eerie start. It's the perfect length to whip through in the bath - you can get a special plastic bag for your kindle for bath and beach use. The style is open, readable and easy, the characterisation excellent, the conversation natural, the touch light and the humour omnipresent. It grabbed me from the off and I didn't surface until I'd finished it.
This book is short, I think you'd call it a novelette (apologies if I've spelt that wrong) and it's deceptively well written. Such a straighforward open style looks so easy but trust me on this, it's not. As a reader I enjoyed it a great deal. As an author I'm suffereing from a certain amount of professional jealousey. Quite a lot of professional jealousey actually. Possibly enough to cause seething.
